About me

Hello and welcome to my site! My name is Lāsma and I am an artist from Latvia. I am largely self-taught, with only very minor academic training. I studied interior design at the University of Latvia, but I found it to be too boring and technical for my liking. It was especially clear when I enjoyed painting and drawing more than other study courses. I've always been a true artist at heart.

I always like to say that my artwork is a reflection of my personality. I mostly paint what I feel. My work is abstract and I like to experiment with different techniques and materials. I only have a vague idea (or sometimes no idea at all) of each painting, so I never know how the final painting will look like. It's being created spontaneously on the canvas. And I absolutely enjoy that process!
